Testing your internet speed

I see ther are a lot of sites that test your internet speed. SHould I be worried about spyware and the like if I decide to use them?

Depends on the site, really. Big and trusted by many is the way to go with stuff like this... dslreports is the only place I ever really use for speed checks.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Re: Testing your internet speed

Just pointing out the diversity in the results from place to place...

I *HAVE* noticed that my upload speeds have been insane for the past month, but I hadn't bothered testing them until now.

Same here, I read on my provider's webpage that they upped my upload speed to 2Mbps. I used to average around 40KB/s, now I get around 150KB/s

Re: Testing your internet speed

My mother ... had... COX in New Orleans. It was always superb.

Comcast is taking over RR Midsouth's customer base in 2006, and I regularly find myself getting excited about Cox coming to town, until I remember.. oh yeah... it's Comcast... not Cox. heh.
