Re: gaming mouse?
i think i found my mouse guys:
before i fully make my decision i'd love to try a razer, just don't know anyone who has one, but right now i'm borrowing my friend's mx518 and boy what a difference. it's taking some getting used to admittedly. it just moves so much faster than i'm used to! it's super responsive so far, maybe a little more than i can handle yet, but the ergo styling is ok to get used to, even though i've always felt more comfortable with the traditional mouse style. it's also nice and light, no inertia like my wireless. in general, it's freakin' rad. on the fly sensitivity switching is way neat too. it's a little confusing however. i don't quite got a handle how to set all the sensitivities. maybe you 518 users out there can give me some tips: is the pointer speed setting in the OS (accessed from Control Panel) important? or does the pointer speed that you specify in SetPoint override this value? What about pointer acceleration in SetPoint? What do you set your pointer speed too in SetPoint? How about in Bf2? Hmm. Alright, that'll do it i think. Thanks for taking a look guys! |

Re: gaming mouse?
Sup killaz!
Definately go with the Razer or the Logitec Mx1000 if you prefer to go wireless. Either way you will be stoked...dont forget to buy a new mousepad also...oversized gamer pads work great and they only like $5 ![]()

Re: gaming mouse?
I use the mx518 and I have the OS mouse acceleration turned off (or set to normal, or whatever it is) and the logitech mousemanager acceleration turned off. I primarily use the pointer speed slider in the logitech controls combined with the in-game sensitivity sliders to adjust my mouse sensativity.

Re: gaming mouse?
I got a Logitech MX518 at the Compusa on Market Street in San Francisco last week. I like the adjustable DPI, but I usually am at the lowest because pointer movements get too jittery.
In a tank it is great to spin faster, but aiming is harder generally when at the higher DPI/resolution. Maybe it is my sitting position. I have tried setting the in-game (BF2) mouse sensitivity lower (0.3 from 1.0) but that makes things all weird. What settings do you other Logitech MX users use?

Re: gaming mouse?
I just bought the mx518 about a week ago, and it's a big learning curve for me coming from the mx510. The only reason I bought the mx518 was for my 2nd OS, Windows x64, on my 2nd hd, so I could use the setpoint x64 drivers with it (there is no mouseware for x64 yet).
Anyway, in setpoint, I turned mouse acceleration off, have setpoint implementation, and set the pointer speed 2 slots below fast. On bf2, I lowered my sensitivity to 0.6 (from 0.8), and am keeping my dpi at 1600 while playing since I'm already used to 800 dpi from my old mx510. Yes, it is hard to aim at that high of a dpi right now, but my thinking is that maybe it'll benefit me in the long run (like the mx510 did).
