Am I missing the RAM on that last system? Otherwise, it looks real nice.
I say "meh" to that Norton thing. Buy better blank DVD's with the money you save and download AVG as a free anti-virus program.

you are absolutly right there is not RAM. are suggestions, shoud be have built in heat spreaders or regular. 2GB please. also wouldnt norton be better than a free ersion of AVG? btw this is for cingular please let me know what you think of the system man.

I have 2x Corsair CMX1024-3200C2. The TWINX2048 memory. It runs in dual channel and if you play BF2 you need 2GB. I have a Aquamark score of 70k with my Venice 3200+ CPU and I am currently running BF2 w everything on high and 2xAA @ 1600x1200 on a BFG 6800 Ultra OC.
The motherboard is nice, but the nforce4 firewall does not work. Also check in the forums if your harddisk works. I am using RAID0 SATA w 2x160GB seagate which speeds up loading. In BF2 I am back in the level when it takes 1:40 until start of game. FWIWGigabyte P35-DS3R, 2GB, 8800GTS 640MB, Core2Duo E8400

Differring opinions on the heatspreaders.. go with what ya want. Just get stuff that has good timings.. The Mushkin stuff you had picked out before should be fine if you plan on running at the stock speeds. Its timings are pretty average IMO, but lower stuff is hard to come by in 1GB sticks. This would be fine if you want something a little higher end than the Mushkin.

Again, if you're looking to make it cheaper and have room on your desk for a traditional CRT monitor, you'll save a LOT of money and have better picture quality by skipping the LCD. The only reason I'd get a LCD right now is if I didn't have room for a CRT, or if I went a LOT of LAN parties. Originally Posted by SilverStealth89

The speakers? If you're planning on using the speakers a lot, I wouldn't go with cheap speakers that are going to sound like crap. If you're going to be using headphones most of the time (like I do), then these will probably work fine on the occasions when you want to share the noise. They're not going to sound great, though. These aren't the kind of speakers that are going to fill a room with sound... But they'll look cool...
Norton Systemworks? I've not had good luck with Norton AV lately, but I'm a big fan of Norton Utilities (which comes with Systemworks...). I don't think I'd pay full price like that, but it's a good set of programs. You can usually get Norton Systemworks for under $30 with a rebate at CompUSA or Fry's.
