Thinkpad 760E with movies?

I want to play movies on it, but I have yet to find a good program that they will run on. I've ran movies on a similar machine, but it was a desktop machine, not a laptop
Anyone know any programs that may work?

Known Specs: P1 133mhz or 150mhz
64mb ram
win 98se
Laptop
1024x768 resolution

Re: Thinkpad 760E with movies?

I thought it supported it by default. What version of Winamp are you running? 2, 3 or 5?

Have you tried out ZoomPlayer?

Umm... download the latest divx distribution? www.divx.com

It comes with a player that supports AVI's in most of the formats you would be watching in. Winamp supports AVI files but not neccesarily the codec is was created with. Make sure you have the proper codecs installed to view your movies.

Windows Media Player does play avi's and, like IE, is pretty tightly integrated into WinXP now. Unless you have a reason to NOT use WMP, I don't see a better choice for viewing video.

That is an OLD machine... forget high res stuff. The best lightweight video player that I have used is Sasami2K. Feature rich but no bling-bling. I havn't found anything that it can't play, but if you are trying to play high quality DIVX or DVD you need at least 500MHz proc.

Anyway, try sasami2k but i wouldn't expect much with that system.

Seems that they moved websites recently and the downloads are not up. I'll host it on my webserver for a short while.

Hmmm, I thought I remembered people putting DVD players in their Pentium 120's... And I know that my first DVD player ran movies beautifully on my K62 400.

winDVD requirements.

Parhaps you can play DVDs with a lesser system, but I am having a hard time finding media players that support anything below 300MHz.
