How much will an extra gig of ram cost?

My PC: Acer RC950

Hi, for Christmas i'm hoping to get a 7800 or X850XT PE, but ive been looking in alot of forums and seeing people who say an extra gig of ram (1GB to 2GB) makes alot of difference. Now i want to get the most out of BF2 if I buy this card so how much will this extra gig of ram cost?

(By the way, im not as "IT Smart" as most of you, so i dont know all the different types of ram lol

)

Any help would be appreciated, just sort of doing my research like 2 months before

Ill take it your not looking to OC so just go to newegg and you could pick up another gig for about 80-90ish(any major brands "value line" just make sure you get pc ddr400 (PC 3200) just make sure you have the extra 2 dimm slots and check compatibility

If you have a machine that supports dual-channel RAM then it might make sense to get a matched pair of two 1g sticks. I got some Corsair TWINX2048 for ~$250 from ebay and sold my 1G stick. (sidestory: I sold it to a guy in Italy and he never received it. i should have send it insured, or just to someone in the US. I had to reimburse him...)
Dual channel made a difference on my Athlon 64 3200 based setup.

I have the X800 XT and the additional 1 gig of RAM does make the difference. Having 2 gig of RAM gives you more space for swap files as well as better graphics if you have a high end graphics card with 256 MB support.
