anyone know a good place to buy a 21 inch CRT monitor?

I highly recommend the Sony G520 - you can find them used for $200-$250. New 21"ers go for $400 and up, which is too much if you ask me.

How do the tubes compare to flat panels? One of my engineers wants a tube for electronic CAD work, where you want 1600x1200 to see lots of printed circuit board at a high level of detail. Tubes at that resolution seem to be a lot cheaper.

Basically, CRT is better for motion video and games while LCD is better for extended reading. CRT can produce a much better black, as well, so it's good for professional image editing.
