Re: Saitek Eclipse vs Logitech G15 gaming keyboard

I have the Eclipse. Took some getting used to, because the keys are slightly different dimensions and placements than a standard keyboard. The only thing I don't like about it is that the feet in the back only raise the keyboard about 1/4 of an inch. I typically like my keyboards angled much higher.

I still wouldn't be able to use that ergonomic keyboard, Cing. I don't type "properly", heh. One of the ladies I work with has a keyboard with a similar hump in the middle. Every time I have to work on her machine, I almost have to resort to the pecking method.

FPS are the only thing i would use it for, so that seems interesting. Could you tell me how you have it set up for Bf2? What about that D pad and orange button?

Re: Saitek Eclipse vs Logitech G15 gaming keyboard

I posted my profile awhile back here

But when I downloaded it the zip said it was corrupt, so it may not work. Post here if it doesn't work and I'll remember to upload it when I get home.

I use the D-pad to jump, talk to squad, talk to commander, and I don't think I have anything on the 4th direction. I use the red button to toggle the mode type to red to activate the vehicle settings.

The n52 has a feature where you can set up to 4 'profiles' per game and use a button to either temporarily change to that profile, or permanently until you hit the button again to turn it off.

And I just thought of this, but you don't have the Nostromo profile editor so giving you that file does nothing heh.

Lets see if I remember, in order from button 1-14. One starts in the top left and moves toward the right.

| Key 6 | | Key 2| | Key 3 | | Key 4| | Key 5 |
|Crouch| | Left | |Forward| | Right | |Commo Rose|
| Prone | |Sprint| | Back | |reload|

and the big black thumb button is my 'use' key to enter vehicles.

The G15 looks fairly long. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of it? I want to make sure it isn't too wide for my tray.

Approximately 21 7/16 inches wide at the widest point (front corners) - not quite 21.5"
Approximately 8.75" deep - in the center. I don't have the extra "wrist-rest" thing installed.
A hair over 3.25" high - to the top of the LCD when standing it straight up, and with the keyboard "feet" opened.
I used a tape measure.

Officially: 21.5" x 10.5" (keyboard w/ wrist rest)

Hope that helps.

Re: Saitek Eclipse vs Logitech G15 gaming keyboard

I just got a G15 from buy.com on sale for $60 plus free shipping. It is the best keyboard I've ever had although I still haven't found a need for the programmable "G" keys. The blue backlighting is really cool and the touch of the keys is perfect. The backlighting of the keys and the LCD have 2 brightness settings and can be turned off. I just ordered an xRaider illuminated mouse pad to go with the keyboard. It glows blue (red & green available) underneath and you just plug it into the USB port for power. That coupled with the blue cold cathode tube in my windowed case, and my desktop looks awesome at night! All I need now are those LED glowing case feet and I'll be set! LOL

Careful dude. Ergonomically, raising the keyboard up is bad for your wrists.

Re: Saitek Eclipse vs Logitech G15 gaming keyboard

How big is it compared to the saitek w/o the extra buttons on the side (the gamer edition i guess). I just have the reg. saitek, but i was thinking of checking otu the g15. I don't have a tape measure at my place, and I've got a pretty limited desk/tray for my keyboard.
