QDR SRAM? (Quad Data Rate RAM)

Okay, so i was talking to an Asian friend who said something about QDR being much better than DDR ram... I never heard of it...

I did a quick google for it, it seems like its twice as fast... I cant find much about it though, does anyone know what its about, and why it isnt implemented?

Data transfer rate of up to 36Gbps (250MHz, 36 I/O)

QDR is not twice as fast, it moves twice as much data.

Speed is based on the FSB of the system.

SDR 133 and DDR 266 are both running at 133.

SDR can be accessed once per clock cycle.
DDR can be accessed twice per clock cycle. (once on the upsweep and once on the downsweep.)
QDR can be accessed 4 times per clock cycle.

I have not read anything on QDR, but the symantics for it being "twice as fast" is wrong.

It seems QDR or QBM was never adopted. Quad data rate probably lost it's appeal since «dual channel» DDR has the same bandwidth (or moves the same amount of data in the same amount of time). Furthermore I believe QDR/QBM was licensed as RDRAM was.
