Boot XP from USB Drive?
Anyone done this?
http://www.ngine.de/index.jsp?pageid=4176
For those of us that are moving towards a time where XP is only used for games, this could be huge!

Re: Boot XP from USB Drive?
ive heard about that and actually wanted to try it just for that fact. i wish they would just make a ISO we can download and install, oops nm that might be illegal. Since you got a ton of free time mateo you do it and report back.
lolthat sounds like a good idea trooper.

i dint see where it ever says how big it would need to be to install. Im guessing you would need a 5-8 gig drive to work. Then i could just install all my apps right on to that, which would just be games...lol
Drive
but i think that would workthat sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: Boot XP from USB Drive?
I'm not sure about XP, but I have gotten a very cut down copy of redhat to boot off of a USB pen. Mind you I had 32meg to work with..
but concidering today's pens get upto 2gig. you shoudl easily be able to do it
write a command to create a ram drive, and tell the computer to use a disposable file on a different drive for the page file, ntloader and a few of the other important one's adn you'll be fine.
but, why are we doing this again?Ambriento for comm! Vote today!Yes, in some games I think NS is nothing but a well-managed set of minor miracles. - Wyzcrak
