It'll probably be OK, but I wouldn't hesitate to point fingers at the power supply if you do have any problems at all.

I bit the bullet and went for a 550w unit... don't want to gamble considering all the $$ I'm putting into this baby.

Please tell me you stuck with a reputable brand name. I guarantee that your Antec 430w is better than some PSUs that are labeled as being 550w.

Heh! I did indeed stay smart. I loved my Antec 430w so much, I ordered the equivalent model in bigger wattage.

And everything is on schedule to arrive between today and Friday. Can't wait. Weekend project!!! Woohoo!

    It's aliive! It's A-LIIIVE!!

    *maniacal laugh*

Got stymied for a while by a bad optical drive. Thought I was going to have a nightmare loading drivers (XP installed fine, but then the drive failed to read after that).

Apo suggested that I *gasp!* swap it for one from my old PC.

    BINGO!

Problem solved. Now I'm in the process of migrating stuff from the old rig to the new (I'm writing this from the old machine).

    Me likey!!

Just for future reference, I just built my first custom PC as well, and the best site I have found is

    www.newegg.com

They have a lot of stuff there and sales all the time. Keep your eye open for anything you may want to upgrade.

    Congrats on the new PC!
