Adobe Acrobat alternative?

I'm looking for an alternative to using Acrobat. Open source would be cool. Are there any free solutions out there that let you create and edit .pdf documents?

Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. OpenOffice can create them, certainly. I don't know if there's anything non-Adobe that will let you edit an existing one, though.

foxit reader will allow you to edit a pdf and print the edited file, but to save the edit, you have to buy the pro version...

I think this is the feature that I really want. It's a hundred bucks for the PDF Editor, though...

Re: Adobe Acrobat alternative?

I have used Foxit PDF Editor before. It has a pretty impressive feature set. I found Nitro PDF Pro (nitropdf.com) to be a better buy though. You can pick up a copy for around $70-$90 if you look hard enough... I got mine for $80 on Amazon.

Re: Adobe Acrobat alternative?

My Ubuntu setup came with evince, not sure if it's avaliable for Windows though.

If OOo does support saving as PDF, I'd use that. Great software package OOo.
