Re: SP2 for XP Pro...
Just an update on this thread. I have 2 machines, one running XP Home and another running XP Pro. Both were updated via Automatic Updates to SP2. The XP Pro machine has an ATI 9800 Pro on it. I got one Dr. Watson error during the "final processes" stage, but it continued and completed with no further problems.
FWIW, I am on the latest Catalyst drivers (released last week). |

Re: SP2 for XP Pro...
hehe i installed XP on my key and it worked fine....well the install did... Sp2 sucks though. DEP doesnt work (the thing that stops buffer overflows or whatever its called), security blocker for IE blocks webpages I made and only I view (ie a page with loads of links on it and its standard html, no activex code etc) and the ms popup blocker blocks "auto download" pages. You know when you goto a page and it says "download will automaticly start in 5 seconds, if not click here to start download"
well i would but as soon as the popup blocker sees these type of links it just closes all ie windows! LOL so, in the long run, every security fix sp2 brought, ive disabled, or it never worked in the first place. 230mb of bloat for nothing....... |

Re: SP2 for XP Pro...
not bloat. it changes or replaces most of the files. I slipstreamed sp2 and only came out with about a 15 meg file size increase.
