Need advice from Linux user.
Ok, I am a super n00b when it comes to linux. I had a pretty old computer at home and I put "xbuntu" on it. The problem is I can't seem to get it to connect to my network and to the internet. Anyone got a clue? Thanks ahead.
P.S. I am not trying to run any games on it, may be I will use it as a TS server or something.Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast!

Re: Need advice from Linux user.
Does X (The window manager) start?
Are the lights on the back of the Ethernet card blinking?
Are the lights on the router/switch/hub blinking?
If yes to all above then open a terminal and type "ifconfig eth0". That should show you the configuration for the ethernet card. I assume that you have your network setup for DHCP. It should show dhcp in the ifconfig output. To set it for DHCP type "ifconfig auto-dhcp".
The manual for the commands for Linux are built into the OS. If you want to see how ifconfig works by reading the manual then type "man ifconfig".

LOL, It turn out that my NIC is not working, so I swap a good one in and it works just like that, thanks for the tip.
