Nvidia 680i Chipset Boards
It's almost time to build a new rig. Thinking about this mobo:

Re: Nvidia 680i Chipset Boards
I purchased the 590 within the past couple of weeks. It's basically identical to the 680i. The 680 has a better northbridge so you'll get better performance. Unless you want those additional features or plan to overclock, you'd be fine with the 590 and save some $$.

Ah, 3 PCIe slots. Heh, I hear that the new nVidia 8800 dx10 card has a 3-way SLI connection....

Re: Nvidia 680i Chipset Boards
Hrmm....I do notice however that only 2 of the PCI-E slots are 16x on the 680i. I guess we'll have to wait for new mobo hardware to support 3 way SLI.

Re: Nvidia 680i Chipset Boards
The 680i setup is like this:
First two PCIe are meant for SLi config, and the third was mean for a PhysX card, but, you can have 3 cards in SLi formatt (3 8800GTX's) but the third would be at only 8X speed.
(The 650 chipset's are only 8X SLi, meaning the 590/680i/nforce 4 X16 are the only chipsets that support SLi with full PCIe X16 bus speeds)Oyee

These runs all done with 8-9hrs benching time using all the hardware at once.
GPU's only pushed maybe 60-70% . So much left untapped...imagine what the scores will be 1 month from now lol:
