I will use my current Dell 24" LCD and SB Audigy 2Z with this.
Windows Vista was RTMed a couple of days ago, so it should be available on MSDN in 3-4 days. So, after my hardware is assembled I will be installing Vista Ultimate 64bit as my OS.
I'll post some 3dMark scores after everything is assembled.Last edited by Twisted_Firestarter; 11-11-2006 at 02:52 PM.

Hahah, actually I was more waiting for someone to point out some dire mistake I had made in my choice of hardware.

Re: New Vista 64bit DX10 Rig on the way...
With a 8800GTX i believe you should up your sound card to a Xfi, you can get one pretty cheap, and the XRAM makes for a better experience.
But im dying to get real world info on the 8800, so please post as detailed post as you can on EVERYTHING! (Smells included if possible lol jk)Oyee

Re: New Vista 64bit DX10 Rig on the way...
Um...so, there has been a slight snag. There seems to be no 8800 drivers for Vista 64 bit. I attempted to install the Forceware 64 bit drivers for Vista, but apparently the 8800 is not compatable because when I run setup I get an error saying "You are running a 32 bit version of Nvidia uninstaller on a 64bit system (Binary type I386). Wrong version of uninstaller. Uninstaller exists now." My guess is that the 8800 is not supported to the setup attempts to cancel.
I'm kinda stuck at this point.Twisted Firestarter

i am pretty pround of my little system..it is really unique..
look up the "Ultrabox" with the "only" SLI micro board there is...i put in 1 gig pf patriot pc3200, dual rappy's in the raid, and a 7600GS..only 1 for now, but will get another eventually..
it boots xp pro from turning on the switch to clicking icons in less than 10 seconds..! I LOVE IT..!
i also covet your system..is a damn good thing you don't live close by...or do you

Re: New Vista 64bit DX10 Rig on the way...
While I'm waiting for the 32bit Vista to download, I thought I'd tease you with the Vista Windows Experience Index score for this rig:
Processor: 5.4
Memory: 4.8
Primary HD: 5.9
lol and...
Graphics: 1.0
Gaming Graphics: 1.0
Thank you generic video drivers

Re: New Vista 64bit DX10 Rig on the way...
Hum de dum. I now have the release version of Windows Vista Ultimate x86 installed and still no video driver to use it with.
Good job nVidia. Way to release your very first vista card without vista support. I'd be happy with just dx9 support in vista at this point..ho hum <sighs and tries another google search for nVidia 8800 vista>Twisted Firestarter
