Troubles with reformatted HDD

A few hours ago I reformatted the two partitions of a 120GB Hard Drive that had turned to RAW format a couple of months ago. Then, I proceeded to uninstall large games from my C drive and reinstall them on my two new reformatted partitions.

Here's the problem, after a good defrag run with Diskeeper, I attempt to run the game, and then either my C drive or my two restored partitions make that 'TOCK!' sound, which leads to the total locking-up of my PC and ending up to restart, now I can't play any games at all!

Does this have to do with the fact that the reformatting may not have scrubbed the drive of everything? Or something else?

Re: Troubles with reformatted HDD

Bleh, forget about this, problem resolved through reformatting everything and reinstalling Windows.

Re: Troubles with reformatted HDD

If it's making a sound that isn't normal, the harddrive might be due for retirement soon.

Re: Troubles with reformatted HDD

Could also be the disk controller, so be sure you keep backed up. If you get the same symptoms with a different hard disk, it's the controller.
