Tweaking 9800 Pro

I've looked all over, but I cant find any good tweaks I get ~30fps in the new counter-strike source (Half-life 2 engine) and I should get ~60 fps.

What could possibly be bottlenecking me?

1.67ghz processor (amd xp 2000+)
512mb Ram
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
Asus mobo
8x agp speed
winxp sp1
Catalyst 4.8 drivers

Any suggestions???

Re: Tweaking 9800 Pro

Good lord, that's practically the same as my setup (I just upgraded to 1 gig of RAM). Help the man out, and you'll be helping two of us! I'm not getting CS, but I plan on getting HL2 and I don't want to be bitten by the frame rate monster.

Re: Tweaking 9800 Pro

I think a faster processor would help out with the FPS. Hopefully, someone else will have some tips on tweaking CS:Source.

All ATI/Nividia users:

Try the omega drivers. I am trying them out now.

I have heard they are much better than the Catalyst that ATI provides

bull**** omega sucks.....

make sure turform is turned off in Opengl properties
make sure triblebuffer is ON in Opengl compatibility settings
make sure Vsync is ON (always on) and make sure your refresh rate is as high as your monitor can support.
HL settings: (check the default settings first by just typing the command, and remember them)
ati_npatch 0
ati_subdiv 0

also make sure its using 32bit colours....
