Speech Control in Vista: Excellent!

I have just started testing the speech recognition abilities of Windows Vista. They are quite good even with minimal training. Would you believe that I'm dictating this post? So far it has recognized everything I have said. As a matter of fact, I opened my browser, navigated to tacticalgamer.com, and created a new thread all without touching my keyboard.

It has some pretty cool features. For example, I can launch an application just by saying "open <application name>". "Open google earth" worked, as did "Open Battlefield 2142".

Cool stuff.

Just don't leave your computer unattended when speech recognition is enabled.

The cool thing is you can easily correct that.

"Correct grate"
List of possible corrections pop up.
"1, OK"
Option 1 is the correct "great" and the word is automatically changed.

Speech recognition couldn't be easier!

It's an exploit due to playing an MP3 file into your mic. That's like opening a suspicious email. Just don't do it.

Speech control? Yep, it's built into all flavors of the OS. Time control? Only in Vista Ultimate.
