Yeah, I believe I'm either going to get the SteelPad S&S SOLO Mouse Pad - OEM US$19.99 or the iCEMAT 2nd Edition 10012 BLUE Mouse Pad - Retail US$29.99

But I've had my optical mouse fail to work on a glassy surface before, and the Icemat is a glassy surface. I guess they put the right stuff in the glass? I think I'm going to go with the Steelpad.

I haven't used a mousepad in years, either, but this new desk I got just doesn't like the feet of my mouse. Lots of drag. Quite annoying. It feels just as smooth to the touch, until you slide the mouse around on it...

havent had a problem with the icepad yet.. i had a steelpad, but for some reason.. it ate away the slide-feet of the mouse... and caused my mouse to not want to move

Really? Which Steelpad did you have? And how long have you had the Icemat? What kind of mouse do you use?

Re: Mousepad?

I have a Func 1030. It's good. You get the option of two different surfaces. I find that the rough side is smoother than the smooth side--at least, my mouse glides more smoothly on the rough side. Cloth mousepads are fine as far as durability and performance, but they get really dirty and disgusting. I'd go buy a new one every 6 months or so because at some point I just wasn't willing to touch the damn thing. Plastic mousepads are great because you can just wash them whenever they get dirty; and, they don't soak up sweat and stuff.

Re: Mousepad?

Same here Big C, I have the same combo and it can't be beat, because you can switch between fast or precision. Tau Neutrino give it a shot you won't be disappointed.(Razer eXactMat)

i tried not using a mousepad.. but the excessive sliding of the mouse in the same place.. slowly wore the finish down on my solid oak desk... so i use a mouse pad

Re: Mousepad?

I use a corepad Magna with my Razer Copperhead. Makes for very low friction between the mouse and the pad, little resistance.

I dont think I could game without a mousepad, heh.

Re: Mousepad?

I've been using a black Icemat and a G7 (wireless laser) for about six months and love them both. Smooth...

Re: Mousepad?

Lots of the suggestions look great, but I'm a cheap bastard. So I've narrowed down my choice to the following:

Everglide Titan

Steelpad QCK

Core EYEpad

Xtrac Ripper

I don't want to spend more than $20 including shipping.

Re: Mousepad?

I have a Razer Mantis..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817114325
It is freaking HUGE.. But I wear any mouse pad out on the bottom edge from my wrist, so hopefully it will give me a couple years before it gets too small
