Re: Video Card opinions

My in-game resolution is set to 1280x960 (my monitor is 16:10 - not 16:9 - with a native resolution of 1680x1050)...

But, 1680x1050 is a 16:10 res. Thats my native res.

Re: Video Card opinions

in-game res is a 4:3 aspect ration (1280x960), my desktop settings are 16:10 (1680x1050). I only wish 2142 supported widescreen formats...

I read your post backwards, thinking you said your monitor was 16:9, and not 16:10

Anyway how would you go about running 4:3 on a 16:10 without being stretched? My monitor has no options to flip to 4:3 with bars on the side. Not like my tv does anyway.

I just run 1680x1050 in game, its just too bad I don't get the full FOV.

Re: Video Card opinions

I don't have the option of black bars either, unless I'm missing a setting somewhere. I guess it gets stretched a bit, but to be honest, I've been running the game this way since I installed it, so I really have no idea what it *should* look like. And I don't see much, if any, distortion.

Very strange, but if I may ask, why don't you run in 1680x? It just stretches the HUD a bit, the 3d stuff is all in normal perspective.

Re: Video Card opinions

1680x1260 or 1680x1050?

I don't recall having either as an option. I'll look at it tonight...

Re: Video Card opinions

2142 doesn't have the option, you've got to force it, you'll need to edit the shortcut on the desktop, add this +szx 1680 +szy 1050

It cuts a bit off the top and bottom, but its not really that noticable, I thought I was going to hate the look of it, but it looks almost normal to me. I saw a huge difference, although I went from a 16inch crt/ 6600 256mb agp8x, to a 22inch lcd, 8800gts pci16x.

Re: Video Card opinions

Now everyone looks too skinny... I think I like my targets nice and fat

Setting this also allows me to alt-tab in a second rather than 5 or 10 seconds, nice!

But, were you curious how the fat guys were sprinting to you so fast? Now you know that they are really skinny!

I still to this day, cannot alt-tab to desktop, all I get is a black screen when I tab back into. This was the same on my last computer with 2142, and I've got 100% different hardware, beside my sata150 harddrive.
