I don't see any reason to dual boot unless you want to squeeze all the performance you can get from using XP. To me, that would seem like a lot of work to set up two environments when Vista will be sufficient.

Re: XP vs. Vista Gaming Performance Evaluation

I had the same people do test runs on my rig with vista vs xp and the same was before just about mostly everyone agrees on right now just stick with XP because of all the problems and low FPS.. I will wait for SP's and a DX10 game to come out before getting Vista... But hey remember when XP first came out? I t was the same too with gaming problems.. T

Re: XP vs. Vista Gaming Performance Evaluation

Just installed Vista 64-bit last night and so far I have drivers for my sound card, video card, printer, keyboard and mouse... installing Steam and CSS as we speak, so we shall see how she holds up.

Re: XP vs. Vista Gaming Performance Evaluation

I want to know what they screwed up? Or what I did for that matter. My vista preforms FAR better on all the games I play. All of them, no exceptions. (Except minesweeper.)

Whatever, Vista is far more pretty an OS, and it has a lot of potential. This combined with what I payed for it (nothing, beta for the win) makes it my OS. (Even if I could use a Mac for the same thing.)

Re: XP vs. Vista Gaming Performance Evaluation

I am planning a new computer build hopefully in the not to distant future. With that in mind I have already made up my mind a long time ago that I am going to stick with XP for a while(maybe another year or till Microsoft no longer acknowledges XP). One thing I have an older computer now and since it is old I have stripped down my copy of XP and my computer now runs faster and more smoothly, I can load PR way faster than I used to. I had seen from the same company that makes the program for strrpping XP that they also have a Vista stripper. So, maybe after Vista was stripped of all the non essentials it might do better, but I still plan on waiting.

Also, I think some people just do not have the computer to run Vista and certain games or applications smoothly. Maybe when processors get even faster along with memory, Vista will be good then.
