Borrow a CD from someone or pick up a used one dirt cheap.

I've heard of people using disk images to avoid using the CD, but you'll have to search elsewhere for details because that is probably breaking the terms you agree to when you buy the software.

Well your license only allows you to install the game on one PC at any one time. So setting up a LAN game with both PCs running the same copy is illegal.

However, they will never find out, so I would download a mini image from gamecopyworld.com, then you can run the game from that on one PC, and use the CD on the other.

Running the game without the CD is easy. The real problem is whether the game will let you play over LAN with the same CD key. Get a mini-image and try it out.

in battlefield 2142 you need unique keys for a LAN game, so I'll assume BF2 LAN has a cd key checker.

Does anyone have a mini-image working for 2142? I couldn't find one anywhere.

I know that a lot of people have had great luck with mini-images and No-CD patches from www.GameCopyWorld.com

Have you tried there?

Thanx,Yeah, they only have the fixed exe files. I have had problems with those in the past. And i think punkbuster gets upset if you use those. I searched all over; no dice with the mini-image.

Yeah, I've never been able to find a mini-image of 2142. Although, I'm glad I bought it over EALink and don't need a disc anyway. Still, it's annoying that there's a CD check and key check for a game that's got no singleplayer.
