    Official XFI Vista install disk finaly available

    I just noticed it while checking out creative's forums.

    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=19513

    Someone in UK purchased the CD and uploaded it. There are several links in creative's forums, both torrents and dl's.

    I dl'd it from here http://files.filefront.com//;7821683;;/

    I'm aware that their was issues with X-fi when Vista came out that required these drivers.

    My question is whether the new drivers have totally corrected the problems, and is it worthwhile getting a X-fi soundcard for a Vista 64-bit system?

    @Nero,
    I was wondering the same thing, and I checked the Creative download drivers page but the driver for Vista 64 hasn't changed since Nov.

    I am running Xtreme gamer X-Fi on Vista 64, and except for the problem I sometimes have with my Mic quitting working while in BF2 (which a ton of other people have, not just with Vista 64), it has been running fine.

    I just puchased an xfi card and installed it yesterday. There are two driver discs included, one for XP and another just for Vista.

    Actually just noticed that this thread started back in the summer, and the thread linked to is really old as well.
    Fooled me.

    Re: Official XFI Vista install disk finaly available

    Sorry about reviving an old thread! I should have just started a new one.

    Anyway, I impulsively bought a X-Fi Xtremegamer card this morning. The install disc only had XP drivers so I downloaded a Vista 64-bit driver from the Creative website. The card works beautifully with little configuration.

    EDIT: EXCEPT, I can't get sound in BF2 and it sometimes crashes when I try to change Audio options now.
    UPDATE: I got the sound going without crashes on BF2 by reverting to Hardware High audio (c.f Creative X-Fi Ultrahigh), but I haven't been able to get the VOIP to stay enabled, it just keeps unticking the VOIP box when I join a game. As I only got this for BF2 I'm returning this to the shop and sticking to my mobo soundcard.
