Hardware Analyzer

Anyone know about a software that finds DETAILED information on the hardware without taking the computer apart. I tried the dxdiag in RUN but thats not detailed enough. Oh and this software has to be free and no viruses please.

Re: Hardware Analyzer

CPUz is decent at telling your ram, CPU type, speed. ETC.
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Belarc PC Advisor prog may be more of your interest though.

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Tells you alot of info about your computer. All installed software, and the cdkeys etc.

Liquid metal said what I would've. Props.

I assume you're adding more and thus need to match the types?

Re: Hardware Analyzer

Depends.

1) Does your system support Dual Channel?
2) Is your ram a pair of 512 or a single G?

Re: Hardware Analyzer

PC Wizard 2007.

It is developed by the same guys who devs CPU-Z.

Or, get Everest Home Edition.

Re: Hardware Analyzer

I use Sandra 2007 from SiSoftware quite regularly and have for many years.

http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/

It does what you're looking for and also has a lot of other benchmarking tools for things like hard drives, USB interfaces, network cards, processors, memory and more. It also has a good set of burn-in tools for new system builds to make sure everything is working properly.

On the download page they have a Lite version that's free or if you don't mind spending $39.99 you can get the Pro Home version.

Re: Hardware Analyzer

Then add two 1Gs and you'll have 3G. Win.
