Re: Need a new keyboard...suggestions?

Okay, so you've mentioned "if it's screwed together"...does that mean I need to take the thing apart before watering and drying? (It's a pain in the butt. Thing uses 34 tiny screws.)

You don't need to take it apart before washing it, but you might consider taking it apart to ensure it's dry. That all depends on how confident you are that it is dry, I suppose... I know that in my house, if I shake the majority of the water out, use half a can of air on it, and then let it sit overnight in my dry, air conditioned house in front of a fan, that it will be dry the next day.

Looks nice, but the keys are too crowded (the arrow and numpad keys).

All right, Cing, I'm going to give that a try one of these days. Once my gums quit hurting.

I think Circuit City has the Razer Tarantula on sale for ~$45 after instant savings and mail-in rebate.

I use a Saitek Eclipse II and really like it, don't know what they go for in the States though sorry. Nice keys and its back lit. I expect everyone hates them but I haven't had any problems. Cheers

Re: Need a new keyboard...suggestions?

Saitek Eclipse II's retail for 69.99 + here where I live, Pennsylvania. It's a shame, they look nice too...

I just have a Logitech Elite which is fairly barebones, except for the stupid wavely-oblong shape of the board housing. And yeah, the stupid media keys I've never used except for the calculator key (and the fact that i accidentally hit the Function Lock button that makes the F-keys do scripted things a lot)

Re: Need a new keyboard...suggestions?

Here's a picture of mine

you can buy it here (some shop I googled). I find that it allows you hands to be relaxed. When you think about it you have to contort your hands to fit onto a straight, normal keyboard. (Click for picture)

For gaming it may not be ideal (I am using some special gamepad) because it is made for two hands. It is harder to reach over to the right-of yhn-columns with the right hand.

I think Cingy might know the answer to that one.

Ooh, I don't know. If you don't want to risk the dishwasher, buy a couple of bottles of rubbing alcohol and pour them into a spray bottle so that you can apply the alcohol with some decent pressure! The alcohol will evaporate quickly. The only worry would be if there are contacts that are able to get dirty from residue, but I doubt that is the case.

Re: Need a new keyboard...suggestions?

Mars, that keyboard is way expensive. How does it hold up if you rest your hands on it while it is split?
