EA Link

EA Link was really slowing down my boot so I removed it. As I did so it popped up a dialog saying that removing EA Link may cause problems running some games. Well, it made it impossible to run BF2. So, I reinstalled EA Link.

I didn't need that hog to run BF2 before I installed it so what did it do? If I get rid of EA Link do I just need to reinstall BF2 and things should be fine? I'd really like to strip stuff off my machine and EA Link really seems to be a prime target.

Re: EA Link

Can't you just have EA Link not start up at boot? I bought Battlefield 2142 over EA Link and it doesn't have to run in order for me to play 2142.
