Re: Time for vista upgrade?
Is there a limit to how many times I can reinstall Windows Vista OEM (aka System Builder's Edition)?

Re: Time for vista upgrade?
Oh, well that doesn't really hinder one's gaming performance.
![]() When these multimedia apps are running...does it matter if it's streaming video or if I'm just watching a DVD?

Re: Time for vista upgrade?
Firestarter, you are right. I mixed that up with my own system when I transfer over the network the DPC latency goes way up and that stops the mouse from moving and is a real PITA. It means that a device driver (prob my Marvell Yukon GbE driver) is not well written. I just have too many problems with Vista. Sleep mode also crashed on me the other day when the machine refused to wake up.

Re: Time for vista upgrade?
Well, with the media stuff in Vista, you can use it as a DVR if you have a tuner card.
I'm trying to figure out a way to convince my school to let me into the MSDNAA thing.

Re: Time for vista upgrade?
My verdict and what I'm following as of now...
WAIT UNTIL SP1. Yes, it'll be extra cash, but worth it. Remember how much @#$% XP had until SP's were out?

Some people hate it since they have a bunch of very old and unsupported hardware that is not compatible. The same thing happened when XP first came out. |

Re: Time for vista upgrade?
I really can't find anything to fault Vista with. There hasn't been any major security holes, and most of the patches have been relatively small and for minor things. I only wish third-party companies would have released full and stable drivers for Vista upon Vista's premier release.
