Re: My semi-New rig

I recently upgraded to an Athlon 64X2 4200+ windsor. You may want to consider overclocking, because the 4200+ has been known to push 2.8 ghz

Re: My semi-New rig

Let me guess a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard?

What else do you have in there? I see a thick cord around the RAM/CPU area...water cooling?

Oh, never mind, I see now those silver cabling is from the PSU.

Kudos to Sarc for pointing out the AMD I overlooked.

So is the Gigabyte sticker for the video card or what, if your mobo isn't Gigabyte? Or is that a old case you are reusing?

Re: My semi-New rig

used to have a Gigabyte board but it crapped out on me so I went with Epox, then I wanted to go dual core so I went with an Abit. All in all I like the Abit the best. Hopefully in a year or so I can step up to the AM2 socket and also the 8800 series cards with Vista, but a wife and 2 kids kinda take all my money. Anyone ever notice how rich they were when they were single???

Re: My semi-New rig

By that time, you should skip to AM3.

Re: My semi-New rig

Ha, 939 for the win!

I'm living out 939 for another year

It was a #$@%& to find out that 939 went from good to terrible in the past 6 months alone.

My motherboard is a piece of junk.

Re: My semi-New rig

I've got an Epox Nforce4 Ultra+ (939 Socket) motherboard and it's still running plenty strong. It's young, only two/three years old yet.

I had been using a Dell 8200 (Pentium 4 ~ 1.8Mgz) for the past 6 years prior to this custom build. The Dell machine is still running strong, happily serving the wife.
