Moving a capital

Hey guys, I've got two colonies in the middle of the main TGA hub, but my capital is really far away in the middle of nowhere. I know how to change one of my colonies into the new capital, but, after I do that, how do I get rid of the old capital or how do I move it to a new island near the main TGA hub? Do I just demolish every building? Is there a way to transport my army to one of the colonies?

[edit] oops wrong sub-forum. If a mod could move this to the appropriate place, that would be great.

First demolish everything except your port and town hall.
Then ship everything you got from your colony to a destination of your choice.
Those steps aren't 'required', but just good business sense.

Then visit your town hall and select the "Abandon Colony" option. You'll lose all buildings, citizens, and resources left in your colony when you abandon it.
