Well, from where I'm at, and where 10:1 is at, its a 20 hour voyage. It would be just to long to transport resources. I believe Ikonic said, thats a 32+ hour voyage for him.

a 1 way trip for me is 31.5 hours to 10:1. According to the map that Catman made, the majority of us are in the 6x:7x region.

can we have the 10:1 people go to someplace centralized on the map? that is more than a day away from me

You definitely don't want to set up colony so far away. You'll be transporting goods back and forth between colonies rather frequently as well as troops in the event your colony comes under attack.

Also since the colony is so far away, some players might decide to be asses and deliberately pillage your colony 6x every 24 hours (the limit) for as long as they can afford it (which could last weeks) until you either leave the island or leave the world.

I'm pretty in the center of the world: [52, 53].

The idea is not to use your colony at 10:1 to support your capital lol, thats madness. It is rather so we all have a place close to each other and we support each other. We trade with each other for resources we help each other out. We also have a group of islands that will be called TG islands that we can send raids from. I will be making my 10:1 my captial and will be colonising the other resource islands around it to help all the people who venture over here.

Yep, me too. I was well established over in my other capital, and I needed more colonies so I sent one over to 10:1. It is a good idea, and I can change it to my capital up there. I have 9 ships, so I can get 2700 resources there every day if need be. I probably will only send one set of 9 ships, then I'll be good to go.

You guys at 10:1 are 33 hours away. No way I'm moving that far away. In the 7x and 6x:8x area there are many islands with not too many colonies. I just not up for isolating myself 30 hours away.

I have set up my first colony an island away but soon as I have the resources I am making a colony down by that cluster of TG guys... It may be a few days since I want to establish my initial colony then send boats down that way. It will be important to have enough of an establishment before I make that somewhat long haul down there.

Yeah, I've thought about it. And for now I intend to stay where I am. Quite a few TGA have moved down by me and it's nice to get the occasional conflict with the neighbors.

You'll have time to build up resources, you have to expand your palace to lvl 2 before you can place another colony. Expanding to lvl 2 is costly.

Heh, wait until you need to expand to level 3. That costs a whole hell of a lot in addition to what you need to upgrade that shiny white marble palace.

Took me a week of spending, waiting, building, and mining to get my Epsilon palace up there.
