Currently the only benefit to being in an alliance (you can't really call communications a benefit since we do it better here) is the TGA tag that denotes you are a member of a large and powerful group. That's about it. That TGA tag makes people doing random pillages think twice/three times before sending off their military and also gives a nice safety net for them to withdraw when a TGA member with a military score in the 100,000+ range comes knocking on their door with an offer they can't refuse.
There really is no real benefit to forming a faction when its so much better, and easier, to have one very large guild with a well known name posted on the charts. If anything a faction would best be served as a gateway guild as AD accumulates more diplomacy points to invite more people.

Yes, there is communication being done on the forums... but not for us in the game. I used to come home to about 8 new diplomacy messages in my inbox everyday, but none of them were related to me or anyone else around me.
Sure, having the tag makes people back off, but we are isolated up here. They would know that, because all the islands around us have 0 colonies, and AD's main island is a day and half away. We have to fend for ourselves over here, and if you guys would send men up here, that would be around 3 days of double upkeep.
Also, it helps out TGA, since the newcomers are closer to you then they are to us. This means you can ask for resources, and receive faster. Also, AD is going to be getting less and less diplomacy points, maybe not due to resources but the time spent to upgrade the buildings. This especially helps with the new Action Point System (AP). Since it would cost you a action point for 3 days to get back your action point.

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
Hmm, dunno if anyone suggested this before(stopped reading at page 7 ^^), I saw something about TGA members gathering in or around a certain(or two) islands, But it would be eally helpful if the TGA had several command posts spread out where people can bunch up without travelling too far. (Sorry if this thread is too old to revive! I'm still getting accustomed to TG )

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
We currently have several areas of population... The ones you read about are most likely the most clustered. We have several in my area (need more) [21:38]. Feel free to help us populate it.

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
Not sure how much time it'd take to move, started this morning so haven't been able to judge distance much, lol. I'm in 76:17, any TGA Islands around here? And how long would it take to move to your area, from the coordinates it seems a long ways away but idk how to judge the coords.
Edit: I scouted 7 or 8 islands near you, saw no TGA Allies :P Really would like one not far from my own though

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
They are mostly in the cluster of islands to the NE and E of me and a couple to the NW and W but the latter have been inactive for a little while.... We aren't clustered in our area. Not too far apart though.
Click on a town near where you want to go and click the pillage button (you need at least one troop and a trade ship to do this) and it will tell you how long it'll take to get there.
You'll need to build a palace and then colonize where you want to go. Build a governor's residence and make the new colony your capitol. Destroy your buildings, ship your goods, and then abandon your old colony and colonize again to complete the move. I would suggest doing this if your going to as soon as possible. The further along you get in the game, the longer this will take and the harder it will become. Good luck to you!

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
8 bits you should get your arse over to the TGU islands and come help us out :-). No point sitting in the middle of nowhere, since section 8 dropped off the face of the world his town spots are all up for grabs.

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
I'm working on it! It's gonna take me a while longer though. It seems I am at war with some idiot and can't afford to loose any colonies at the moment.

Edit: Is the Palace a upgrade/expansion of the Town Hall? if so what lvl do I need it to be at...And, should I bother lvling up things like my Wall if I'm going to move? And I want to be sure on a location, to join someone that won't be leaving the location I'm moving to this year
Edit again: >.> Should I upgrade Hall to lv3 or Wall to lv2 or Acad to lv3 if I'm going to be moving anyway? And sorry evweryone for all the questions lol, all the time in-between builds in this game makes me ask more questions, thanks for answering all of them so far ^^

Right, I know this post was way back, but the "Map" of all our members sounds really helpful, how do I get access to this?

Re: TG Alliance (TGA)
You need a Embassy, click on the embassy and put "TGA" in the Tag, the one with 81 or so members(I think someone else has one too trying to copy), to the right of the name you should find some hands shaking and click it(I think this is how it goes)
Edit: OH don't do the "found alliance" thing, go below that (Right after you click on the embassy go down to "search") then follow above instructions.
