Re: trading/shipping

The trading post, not trading port, increases your trading range.

Re: trading/shipping

Do NOT upgrade your trade port. Trade ports are used against you if you are pillaged.

You need to upgrade your Trading Post. At every odd level, you will increase your trading radius by 1 island tile. Remember that long distance trading is risky; blockades can intercept your trade ships and a closer trader can beat you to the punch to a deal.

Re: trading/shipping

If you are exchanging resources, you do not need the trading post to do that. You only need a Trading Port and available cargo ships. Click on the target city and you should see a "Transport Goods" button that will allow you to ship goods to them. You use the Trading POST if you want to sell your resources for gold.

BC2ID had this problem when he tried to ship 600 crystal for me. You might want to ask him how to fix that.

Re: trading/shipping

You guys are using the trading post, you need to switch over and use the trading port, if your going to do direct trades for goods, and not gold. The port, you can ship as far as you want to, it will just take days. For this you need to have the coordinates of that person, and then look those coordinates up in the world view, click on their name, and click on transport goods.

I have a level 2 trading port, no trading post, no shipyard. I can not direct trade for goods. Whenever I click on someone's name it only gives me the option of diplomacy.
