Need a Little Help

I've got a guy sending 60 units from two places one due in 21 hours 9 units and one in 22 hours with 51 units.

At the moment I've got 3 ram-ships, 4 cargo ships, 10 slingers and level 4 town wall. I have lots of building materials and goldy stuff or at least enough to be getting on with. I am researching professional army atm and it'll be ready in 15 hours. The barracks is level 3, town-hall is also 3, shipyard 1, trading port is 2, warehouse will be level 3 soon enough.

What should I be doing? Do you think I can defend myself against him? I'm clueless so any help would be much apperciated.

Alright, first off your attacker is going to be facing ENORMOUS double upkeep per hour. This alone makes him a dumbass. Secondly, his first attack is a probing and softening attack. His 51 unit attack is the steamroller and he can call this one off if the probing attack fails or brings back bad news.

Upgrade your barracks to level 4 before he arrives. When Professional Army is finished, pump out Phalanx units (you need sulfur for this). Make a couple Ballista Ships ASAP. He will need a Battering Ram or Catapult to break through your wall.

Check to see if your port is under a blockade, if he didnt do this, your ram ships and ballista ship will demolish him and you will win. If he blockaded you, get a nearby TG member or neighbor to click the "Free Harbor" button on your town in an attempt to break the blockade.

You won't win in a ground battle if he brought siege weapons, but if you have a strong navy, it wont matter. Make sure to read my Guide -- How to pillage like a man and how to protect yourself

If your lucky this guy may withdraw. As the cost and upkeep is going to be through the roof, the guy that ikonic has been pillaging, well he's about 8 hours out for be to attack, and upkeep/cost was already at 10k for 7 swordsman.

Also, if you are not blockaded, do a "Transport Goods" to me (Ikariam Jihad @ 66:76), and then recall the ships after he arrives. This will ensure you do not lose out on your goods.

Ok thanks for the advice ikonic.

His first wave seems to have vanished it's still there but is says 0 units.

I have another couple of question.

At a guess how many ballistas do you think I'll need?
How do I know if he has blockaded me?

You will know if you got hit with a blockade if you lost your ships.

Always have 1 or 2 Ballista Ships docked.

EDIT: It looks like he withdrew his first wave.

It seems the most Sulfur I can get is 95 atm. Which is more important the phalanxes or the ballistas?

I've just checked diplomacy and he's using to accounts... Very shady I'll probably report. Thanks ikonic for sending help there too

I'd report him to, but I'd report him for being dumb. Sending a army out for 20+ hours and paying at least 50k+. "Here's your sign, stupid".

His attack is down to 15 units and I should have 5 Ballisstas and 3 rams by the time he arrives.

Does my shipyard have to lvl 3 to produce Ballistas?

I agree that this guy is dumb. After doing ANY sea-faring pillaging, even just a couple islands away, you quickly realize that it's not worth it unless you really do your homework and hit the perfect target (which you obviously are not). I am yet to gain anything from any of my off-island pillage runs, and I certainly wouldn't waste a day or so (time and upkeep) on someone super far away like that. Just seems odd that it's even happening.

You need to send spies in on level 4+ towns and case the joint.

This is a success story of an off-island pillage
