What is the best way to utilize spies?

Should you let the detection rate go down after each assignment.....does it?

Should you bring them home and send another?

Anyone got anything on this?

I answered my own question. If your spy completes an assignment then let hit sit idle for a bit. The detectionrate decreases over time, once it is low enough....send him in again. Basically it is like he is living amongst them and you do not contact for a bit, then hit him for a favor.

unless the spy is from Catropolis, then when the detection rate if 5% and he goes to spy on the warehouse, he gets busted.

Pray before sending, pray during briefing, pray during mission, pray that his soul be delivered to the afterlife quickly.

I've sent out a ton of spies, all with very low levels of being discovered. Some don't even make it to the town, the one that do are still discovered when they spy on the warehouse, yes, I wait a long time to send to the warehouse, but it doesn't seem to matter.

i sent one to my nemesis on the same island last night. Level 9 town, so the risk of getting caught was low. He made it there fine. Inspected the warehouse, then the treasury (both successfully), but I did em back to back (didn't know better) as soon as he got there and his risk was high. I clicked on return and he got caught during the return. LOL.

Yeah even a return has a high risk of getting caught, so just let him sit once you do a mission and you will be fine.

what about when you attack is he any use? Like in other games by having a spy behind the walls it gives you a percentage rate of the spy being able to raise the gate or get rid of defensive objects to help the assault.

The risk to check the barracks is pretty low so it is very useful.

I like spying after the guy has sent troops to attack me. I can see how strong his defenses are and attack from another colony.

Here is a protip: If you find a city with high level walls send multiple spies to the city and when you attack, they will all have a chance to open the city gates. This allows a 10% Attack bonus per open gate

Do you know what the stat "Possible breaches: 6" for the wall means?

I believe that means a lvl 6 wall with 6 gates that can be opened.

I am not sure; however, Siege Weapons can breach the wall with each "possible breach" on your walls and give you additional attack % bonuses.

the higher u upgrade the wall the more breaches u have, thats messed up.

Yeah, because you are getting more gates every time in theory. Each level is one more gate, inferring from this thread only, however.
