for defensive purposes only(cant afford phalanx), is 3 swordsman better then 6 slingers?
also upgrading the wall, is it worth it?
new to combat part of the game.

Upgrading the wall is very much worth it. Just keep it at about the same level as your town hall to get the benefit.
