How would you rate the importance of certain goods?
Of the 6 resources:
Interestingly enough how you rate them tells a bit about how you play.

Re: How would you rate the importance of certain goods?
Interesting thread:
1. Wood - you pretty much need this for everything, including soldiers. 2. Wine - Keeps the people happy and helps with population growth. Also, those who have the other resources need wine to improve moral. Valuble to trade for the following items. 3. Marble - To build a strong town and be able to withstand attacks by improving walls. Also, as the population increases you need to keep up with the buildings...which you need marble for. 4. Crystal - Neede for research first, without reasearc you can not expand, trade, nor defend your town. It is really a toss-up between Marble and Crystal depending on where you are in your expasnion stages. 5. Sulphur - Needed for ships and troops, although I believe that a strong defense begins with a strong offense. Once you have established your walls, the ships become more important to protect from pillaging. I have tried to keep my resources to a minimum until I could properly defend myself, which would be now, and now I am building my military up....so now sulphur is becoming a priority.

Re: How would you rate the importance of certain goods?
1. Wood/Marble - For obvious building and expansion purposes. I rank them both the same on level of importance.
2. Sulfur - Call me a cutthroat, but with profit and expansion comes the responsibility to kick the little guys butt so none can rival and threaten your position and wealth. 3. Gold - Important for the upkeep of troops and to employ spies. Also helps with some other junk like upgrades and cargo ships. 4. Wine - All that warfare, you need drunk and happy citizens. 5. Crystal - Throw some at the scientists...give em something to do.
