moving troops within your empire?
I recently built a colony on another island and i was wondering if there is a way to send troops/recourses to it?

Re: moving troops within your empire?
you can't really send troops, it cost double upkeep. Send resources the same way you would send them to any other colony.

Re: moving troops within your empire?
You can relocate troops.
Make sure the pulldown menu is on the colony you want to move troops from. View your destination island and you'll see two options, Deploy Troops and Deploy Fleets. These allow you to move troops around your colonies. It's expensive though. It is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9/NIV

And your military advisor will fly all the flags saying your colony is under imminent attack from your capital city.
Bad news is ships tend to meander around outside new colonies if they're sent from an outside city so they will constantly be 'on the attack' in your military advisor even if you don't pay the increased upkeep. My sanity is not in question...

Build a shipyard at your colony and you can move your ships there at no cost. Troops however, will cost double upkeep......would be best to build a barracks and recruit new troops.
I established a colony and got the wall up to level 4 for the added protection, then I snet a Ballista and ram to sit in the shipyard and wait.

Another easy way to send resources from one of your cities to another of your cities is go into the Trading port and select your city to send the resources to under the Send out trade ship option.

Re: moving troops within your empire?
This is false. Ships moving from one settlement to another will still have double upkeep just like land troops. The only difference between sending the two is that warships, as a rule, will cost more since they travel slower than your cargo ships carrying troops.
When you deploy your fleet it even tells you how much gold it will cost in additional upkeep and how long the travel time to your destination will be.
Also your fleet will constantly 'attack' your new settlement causing your military advisor to have spastic attacks and reports of an incoming enemy and an outgoing force. (From you to you)My sanity is not in question...

Re: moving troops within your empire?
I sent two sjips to sit in my shipyard at my colony and there was no additional upkeep. When I pull up the shipyard, they are just sitting there. No military reports at all from the colony. That was the reason I sent them, no charge and I had the resources in my capital to build....glitch maybe? That navy is enjoying the new colony.

No no, the additional upkeep is for the travel time. If you try and send them back it'll even tell you how much it'll cost you to do so. Once they're stationed then upkeep goes back to normal.

Re: moving troops within your empire?
Ayep. While moving they have the same upkeep as any other expeditionary force and will have double upkeep until they reach a settlement owned by you. This is something to be wary of since ships will take far longer to travel long distances than troops so if you have wide spread colonies you might as well just send the goods and build local instead of deploy ships.
