Pillaging is fun!
I just completed my first big time pillage. I scored 5 ships worth of wood and sulfur.
There's still 3500 resources in the warehouse, so ill be heading back as soon as my ships get home.

If the guy has lousy defense, send a 2 ship with troops around 20 minutes apart, you'll get more gold this way. How many ships do you have.

Re: Pillaging is fun!
So what do you guys make of a level nine town with all kinds of high level buildings, including a level 6 barracks, ~2000 total score, and zero military score. I've seen a lot of that around.
Is it that there a players that just go without a military? or do you think it got wiped out by an earlier pillage?
I'd like to pillage the guy, but I'm thinking I don't want to get smacked down after he rebuilds.

Re: Pillaging is fun!
I do think the game will need to deal with the "gang" pillaging or there will be gangs that send waves after waves at even a well defended town and then pillage it to death.

Re: Pillaging is fun!
My 2 cents...
Three scenarios for military score = 0:
1. Trader/builders - some players think this is a building and trading game so they don't think they need defenses. I'd say if this guy you're eyeing has a military score of 0 over a few days he is probably one of these and is ripe for pillaging. Send in a spy to make sure he's not a 'sleeping giant' though...
2. 'Sleeping giant' - if they have a barracks of 4+ & shipyard 3+ and has a higher score than me or is in a strong alliance = "sleeping giant" who could retaliate nastily. There are lots of people who are less dangerous to go after so I tend to stay away from these ones.
3. Devastated victim - If he was just attacked and lost his military he would have a military = 0, BUT if he used to have a military he would be building it up straight away to replace it. So keep an eye to see if his score stays 0 for a few days. He may not have many resources to pillage.
--> Kormendi, your potential target looks like a sleeping giant to me. If you attack you would have to keep pillaging him until he quit the game (to keep his resources low), or else he will seek revenge on you with his archers and rams etc.

Same guy I posted about here: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/956445-post37.html
You may be right about that. I'm getting second thoughts now. I definitely don't have the resources or research to defend against any significant force.
