To expand or not?
I have a level 7 city on a wine island pulling in decent amounts of gold, wine, and wood. However Im constantly in need of marble and glass which I have been trading for regularily.
So I have enough resources now to start a new colony and was wondering if I should sit tight and amass more resources while trying to trade for what I need for a while longer. Or start that new colony on a marble island (as I need marble the most it seems currently, glass will be priority soon enough). I just worry that sitting here amasing lots of resoureces without a proper level of military and wearhouse (limited by both my desire to save my resources for expansion and marble is scarce) that I will get pillaged and loose all that work. Better to invest in now while I have it and scrap to get back up in resources?

Well in my infinite patience I went ahead and Im setting up a new colony, though I have a short while that I could recall it I believe so fire away if this is a horrible mistake.

It's never bad to settle a marble colony. You're definitely going to need it.

Re: To expand or not?
Marble trading nearby would be AWESOME!! Nobody outside of TGA on our side of the world is very forthcoming with the marble. My next colony will be a marble colony, in fact. Good choice!

Re: To expand or not?
For sure Arithea once I get rolling I will start shipping. It should be just over 5 hours but its cheaper then me building a glass colony at this point.

Rock on! No rush; I've been able to acquire enough to keep me going, if barely. Just send me a message in-game when you're ready to start trading; I'll keep you back some crystal.
