Question about abandoning a colony.

Does any know what the effects are if you abandon a colony while a trade ship is on its way somewhere from that colony?

Should I wait till it returns?

I'd wait. I didnt want to risk it when I abandoned mine, so I held off the extra couple hours until it arrived.

You can't abandon a colony while it has actions involved with it.

ahh, k... well when my ships got back, I went ahead and abandoned. Only lost 16 marble that I couldn't get sold or shipped before hand.

So my Sulfur island is bye bye for now.

Colonizing on one closer to me as we speak.
