Corruption
What impact does corruption in your colonies have? I just expanded to my third colony and now my other two are corrupt. I know how to get rid of it, but it will take a while - just wondering what will happen if I do nothing. I want to start building up my military some.

Re: Corruption
You need to upgrade your Governors Residence, to the amount of colonies you have. Example, I have one capital, and two colonies, I need my both GP's at level 2 in order not to have corruption in those colonies.

Re: Corruption
If you click on your town hall and look for Corruption:
Corruption: 0% (7%)
The first number is how much corruption you have in your colony at the moment, in my case 0%. The number in parentheses is the possible corruption, for this town it was 7% but I have enough levels in Governers Palaces to reduce it to the 0%.

Re: Corruption
Basically that means that before you colonize it is wise to build up, not only your palace, but all your GR's to the next level in preparation for the new colony. That way you'll suffer corruption in only 1 town (the new one) to a lesser extent then to all your towns on a massive scale.
This is especially true if you're running on the margin because corruption not only ramps up with the age of your town, but with the size as well.My sanity is not in question...

Re: Corruption
I thought that currently if your GR is one level below your palace that you wont get corruption. I have two colonies and a captial so my palace is level 2 and my GR's are still level one, it says I have corruption but all my colonies are at 0% (8%)

Re: Corruption
My marble colony is at 0% (10%) and the marble output is slow as molasses. Hopefully I can get that darn building upgraded soon.

Re: Corruption
The corruption is displayed as "Corruption: current% (actual%)"
Right now they don't have the full effect of corruption in place, so what you see as the current is the small fraction of the actual they they are applying. Once corruption is fully in place, the parenthesis will go away and there will only be the actual value.

Re: Corruption
Incorrect. Your GR must be one level below the total number of your settlements. That means if you have 3 settlement you must have level 2 GRs. The same holds true for your palace since you must have a palace 1 level lower than number of colonies you establish. If you establish 2 colonies you must have a level 2 palace which puts you at 3 settlements and level 2 GRs.
Basically you need to upgrade a 'palace' to the same level in all your colonies before establishing new ones.My sanity is not in question...

Re: Corruption
I was really mad because they suddenly implemented this whole corruption thing after I already had 3 colonies. HOLY! Do you realize how many resources it takes to get a level 3 governer's in all 3 colonies? That is just plain STUPID! You don't implement something that huge part way into it.
At least it doesn't have that big of an impact. It only lowers your happiness a bit right now. I need to upgrade all 3 of them once more, but that is 20,000 wood (times 3), 7000 stone (times 3) and 4500 crystal (times 3) for a total of
60,000 wood
21,000 stone
13,500 crystal
Anyone else think this is one of the stupiest and most blatant Take your resources away moves?"Sympathy means a lot, coming from Kulmar. I didn't think it was possible.
Good luck getting rid of your disease. If you're infected, though, stay away--I can't afford to be a zombie right now.

Re: Corruption
Tarenth - my colonies with level 2 governor's mansion still have corruption. I have 3 colonies (+ my capital) so you NEED to have your mansion = level of colonies, not level - 1

Re: Corruption
Both are the number of settlements minus 1 which can equal the number of colonies since settlements is colonies plus one for your capital. The guide has both terms thrown loosely which is where a good deal of confusion comes into play.
Settlements = All cities including your capital
Colonies = All cities excluding your capital
Seems I mis wrote the palace bit in my rush though. The palace must equal the number of colonies you have.My sanity is not in question...
