Warning this is a bit long. I wrote it up mostly because I just wanted to tell the story to someone.
So I'm getting ready to log off for the night and I get an incoming attack warning at my new crystal colony.
I check who the attacker is and nearly fall out of my chair laughing. Iceman2665 has 2 colonies on the island a level 8 Spookytown and a level 1 ST2. Non affilitated. Has a massive total score of 827 backed up with a 6k military score.
He's sending 8 units at me.
My town Talusgrad level 6 with level 5 wall and a supporting military of 5 Swordsmen, 5 Phalanx and 5 Archers. My total score is over 11k and military score around 150k.
I'm thinking boy did he not do any research. He must be attacking the wrong person. So I figured I'd point some things out to him and sent him this message.
"Why are you attacking me? Look at my score, look at your score. Do you notice anything? While your looking look at the alliance tag. There are easier fish out there to pillage than me"
I still haven't gotten any response back from him.
So his 8 units turned out to be 4 slingers and 4 phalanx.
Well by the time they managed to line up on my town they had already lost 3 of each and the remaining 2 ran home.
Before his forces reached me I set up a counter attack from Talanium on the next island over. Sent a blockade to each city and an attacking force of 16 Swordsmen and 2 rams to assault his town.
Turned out he had 6 slingers and 7 phalanx waiting in Spookytown when we assaulted. When I saw the attack/defense numbers before the first round started I was thinking either this is going to be a really tight win if I get a lucky break or a total loss. I was thinking at the time too bad I won't have time to send reinforcements from Talusgrad to help out.
Well after about a half hour of battle and 2/3rds of my force gone and only 1/3rd of his down I realized I do have time and sent off 5 augmented Archers. I figured if they didn't make it in time they could finish off his remaining forces and pillage.
The Archers arrived in the nick of time at the end of the 3rd round. At this point I only had 2 Swordsment left to his 5 slingers and 3 phalanx units.
The 4th round I lost an Archer he lost 2 slingers and a phalanx. The 5th round we finished him off with no further losses to my troops.
Since I had 2 different forces in the battle I got 2 pillage loads of 4 ships full of wood and crystal for that battle and then continued my attacks up to the limit. By the 5th attack I had finally sucked out most of his reserves by the 6th I got less than 50 resources.
I'm thinking he has a 3rd town somewhere since he doesn't have a palace in the lvl 8 city. I just haven't been able to find it.
