Abandon a colony?
So I have moved (to Engios[69:82] > Sitka), moved my capital (via the governor's residence, converting it to my new palace) and removed all buildings and resources from the original capital which now is a colony. The only building left is the town hall. I clicked on it to abandon it, and I get an error:
Huh? There are no events that I can tell - there are no buildings, no deployed ships, no nothing. It's dead other than the unhappy population. Any ideas? The colony canīt be abandoned yet because one or more events are associated with it.

Re: Abandon a colony?
I think it's a bug they haven't fixed yet.
I don't remember exactly, but I remember reading about this problem on the Ikariam forum. One of the GO's responded that it wasn't high on their priorities list or something along those lines.Acreo Aeneas

Re: Abandon a colony?
I got that when trying to abandon my colony just after shipping the last of the resources away. I had to wait until the ships had reached their destination before I could abandon it.

My sanity is not in question...
It was a confirmed casualty some time ago.
Light, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they ticked me off.

Re: Abandon a colony?
In order to abandon a colony, you literally cant be doing ANYTHING with it. All ships in port. All troops at home. All buildings static (i.e. nothing being built or upgraded). Otherwise you'll get that error.

Re: Abandon a colony?
As usual, the fellow TG'ers are correct.
I had ships that launched from the abandoned colony but were still on their 26-hour journey to the new world. As soon as the ships landed, said colony could be deleted.
That said, I was really surprised at how long it took for my population to drop. This was a colony with NO buildings other than the town hall, yet it maintained a population of 230 tax paying citizens for days, with a fractional decline. Once I figured this out I let it linger a bit longer until I needed the slot for a colony closer to my new capitol. Then it was 'buh bye.'

Re: Abandon a colony?
I ran into this problem as well. In my case I had been attacked and had to wait for the other guy's army to finish their journey home.
