    4th colonization without corruption costs a flippin' fortune!

    Opening a second colony was fun, a third colony took a little planning, but a fourth colony is something else:

    Palace lvl 2 -> 3 = ~20K wood, 7k marble, 5k crystal
    Governor's house(s) lvl 2 -> 3 = ~40K wood, 14k marble, 5k crystal

    Add in the new colony costs and third level 3 Governor's house and you end up with one hell of a cost.

    Question - is it worthwhile to start that fourth colony even if one cannot afford to upgrade all the governor's houses? In other words, live with corruption in the colonies?

    Too bad TGA can't go into some kind of colony mortgage business, we could sub-prime this all the way to the bank!

    it is, I mean think of all the extra you get from another colony. Lots of gold, and a whole other resource pile. To me really it is all about the gold income as that supports a larger army, even if you are not going the large army route the resource plus is worth it. Then only 7% corruption is not such a big deal.

    Agreed, the corruption at this point is not a big deal. I went for a second crystal colony for my 4th and it has allowed me to upgrade everything for the next patch. If you go the military/pillage route, you have 3-4 more AP points gathering income and resources. I have set all of my colonies up with troops so they can be somewhat self-sufficient by pillaging their own needs. You can also sell pillaged goods from all of them.

    If you go the non-military route then you can make a good living selling resource goods. Just do some research to make sure you are producing a premium item like marble. In my area, marble has been going for 75-90 gold/ea so it helps the cashflow. It is then easier to purchase less expensive items like sulfur and wine if you need them.

    I have 2-marble, 1-wine and 1-glass. I've been thinking about adding another colony but I can't decide which resource go for. I can't sell glass at all around my other colonies. Right now, I have enough wine and marble. Any suggestions?

    I guess it's inevitable that you have to endure some corruption when colonizing, it'll probably be weeks before I have all three governor's houses up to level 3 to match the palace. Can't even think about a Level 4 palace right now - jeez.

    Mosely, I upgraded my .org empire recently, and it is a lot easier if you get the research in the acamady done that give you 8% less costs for upgrades.

    I also did a marble coloney, and yet I am still hurting for marble, needing to upgrade my 1st 3 islands to level 17's. I am buying all the marble I can that is on the market for under $50 gold, and all my extra logs go into the 2 marble colonies. Make sure you find an island that already has the resource level very high, like a level 12-13 marble mine.
    I figure too once I get ahead in the mable (if ever), that is also what sells for the most gold on the market.

    Re: 4th colonization without corruption costs a flippin' fortune!

    I already have a fourth colony on my first account. The highest I have my palaces at is level 2. Not much point in dumping in 20k+ marble and 5k of crystal to get rid of a mere 13% or so of corruption.

    The corruption only affects how much gold you get per hour and if all of your colonies are at least level 10, you shouldn't have much to worry about income.

    If I ever come up with a high resource income, I may decide to make my 4 colony palaces level 3 and level 4, but it will cost me very heavily.
