    Blockade Problems?

    Hello all,
I am about to pillage an inactive town that has a trading port and a ship yard. My spies report two ram ships but when I click on the town (and I have points to spare) it only gives me the option to pillage but not to blockade. I have a level ten ship yard and a grand (star)fleet!

Why am I experiencing this problem? I know that there are seasoned pillagers out there that know the answer to this vexing issue.

You can't blockade inactive players... All you have to do is have a single ship in your port and you are safe when and if you go inactive. Preferably though, you would want to go into vacation mode and then it wouldn't matter.

    8 Bits,
Thanks for the information. This foo has two towns on the same marble island. He has ships in one of the cities, but the other is ripe for the plucking.

    8 Bits,
I have attached my battle report - it was not much of a pillage, but the town holds 3000 marble. It is my hope this fellow (an alliance of one!) becomes active so I can start my first offensive active pillage.

Good job! You have to walk before you can run... Bigger hauls will come soon enough, just keep looking. Do you have the Greasemonkey ScoreLinker script? It helps to scope out potential targets.

    Re: Blockade Problems?

    8 Bits,
Yes, I installed greasemonkey yesterday. I have taken down some big(ger) hauls already: 12K gold + 1500 marble x6 and the same sort of score with crystal, but my location has some little in the way of ripe inactives.

I will have to start attacking regular foos soon...my 5th town will not build itself!

I plan to place my next colony someplace far from my home islands and nearer to the action. That way, the colony will act as a frontier post and my home islands will be save from retaliation.
