Getting attacked by a random islandmate without provocation

Hey, I'm getting attacked right now by some idiot that just decided it would be fun. His stats are as follows:

Playername: DeusVult
Coords: 80:82
City name: Rhodes
Alliance: The templars TKA

I'm kinda new at the whole military aspect of this game so any advice or military support is appreciated.

Good news is he's in my area. Bad news is he's about the same size as me.
We both have over 200k military score so it'd be one hell of a battle.
I'll ask him to stop attacking and see what happens.

I got 5 spies on the way to 2 of his towns.

He's got a lvl 5 wall and a lvl 8 trading port and 1.4 million in gold so I couldn't wait and tried to send 20 upgraded catapult ships to clear the harbor for an attack. There seems to be a bug with the new version update though because I can't seem to blockade anyones harbor right now. I tried from 4 colonies and it won't let me.

Anyone else have that problem? I have action points but it won't let me select ships.
I'll keep trying because I really, really want to attack him now that I've seen his town.

He said "i only attacked him once i was bored"

So I said "I'm bored too. lol I was gonna wait a few days until my gunpowder research was finished but this is a good way to clean out my old troops. Might as well give them a soldiars death. I never thought I'd be the guy bringing a knife to a gunfight. lmao"

I don't want him demolishing his trade port or building a ram ship or anything so I'm hoping he'll think he's gonna win and let the battle play out.

Should be a fun battle unless he builds a ramship and turns me around. It still wont let me send blockades anywhere.

I just moved a spy twice fast just to get him caught and then sent a message saying "damn, ya caught him! I wanted to see if you really have guns or not"
