WAR on Ikariam

I (and everyone else) got attacked by the game last night. They bashed me with the version update and stole alot of citizens and are now extorting me for thousands of wood, marble, and glass for the next few weeks by forcing me to upgrade GM's. They should face a 2 day ban for bashing us. We should declare war on the GO's on the Ikariam boards.
I seriously might just stop playing because I'm so pissed.
It costs 17,956 wood, 6,292 marble, 4,195 glass to upgrade to lvl 3. I have to upgrade 4 towns to lvl 4 to get back to where I was. That's SEVEN GM upgrades I need to get back to normal. Not gonna happen. Screw this.

If you checked the Ikariam forums, they have been mentioning this was going to happen for a long time. It isn't like they just poped out of no-where and did it. The game is constantly updated and it is the players responsibility to keep up with those updates.

I do think the corruption and the ammounts required to upgrade GRs is a bit high though, it does not make it worth it to expand past 5 cities IMO.

I never read their message board because it sucks and I'd rather spend my free time playing the game then reading about it. I had no idea it was coming and neither did my rl friends that play. It was a total shock and major setback to me. Time for me to find a better game I think. I'll be going in vacation mode as soon as it lets me.

If you are leaving the game make sure you EXIT the alliance BEFORE going into vacation mode. No since in keeping someone out of the alliance if your leaving.

I really dislike the new update also, wish they would add in governing, it would offset some of the new stuff.

Yep, corruption got me too! I have 4 colonies (5 cities) and all had a level 1 GR at the time of the update. I was loosing 205 population and the production from my mines and mills slowed to a snails pace. On top of all of that, I was extremely low on resources at the time. A little time and effort spent, I'll be updating all of my GR's to level 3 in a couple of hours. From the looks of things, this should lower my corruption from the original 21% to only 7%. The last leg is gonna take a while and quite honestly, I've got better things to do for now... Man that update hurt!

They turned corruption up from 1% to 50% with the last update. Next update it's supposed to go to 100% from what I hear. I was pissed but I got over it.

Oh. That's doesn't affect me any since I already had my GR's up to date.
