Article Request: Aiming.
Since we're now in the wonderful world of iron sights, it'd be nice to see an aiming tutorial of sorts. Specifically, how the different types of sights featured in Ins are to be aligned, and how they compare to their real-life counterparts. I've noticed the Marines' black-rifle-with-aimpoint seems to always want to hit low, and that, partly because the recoil doesn't rebound any, it seems to be best used by aiming the point on target and firing twice, because the second bullet hits near the aimpoint despite the first going low.

I hope this is what you're seeking. I slapped this together in 5 minutes, so forgive the crude M16 peep sight representation.

Re: Article Request: Aiming.
As for how they compare to their real-life counterparts, I'd say they're good to go. Just forget the CS:S headshots and aim center-mass.

One shot to the chest will most likely kill the target in this mod.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee. -Ezekiel 25:17

Re: Article Request: Aiming.
It would've been nice if they had included a little shooting range map. Maybe I'll make something at some point.
Re: Image. I always figured they were to be aligned to the point of a w or the dot of the i (as much as those letters are analogous to iron sight designs) but it seemed I wasn't hitting unless I obscured the target with my sight's central feature. As I mentioned, aimpoint seemed to hit really low. Today a T popped out from a corner and dropped prone. I went aimpoint, put my dot on his head (visually, the "lowest" part of his body) and tapped six times. Three kicked up asphalt, one hit his head, one hit his body, and one looked like it went over him. Maybe it doesn't align properly in widescreen?

There is a test range map. Click on Create Server then for the map, scroll all the way to the bottom.

I find the AK-47 and M-16 kill just about everyone in one hit, so long as it's not the legs.

The test range map isn't very useful; it would be nice if it had some moving and breakable targets. I find the best target practice is still in game.

Re: Article Request: Aiming.
Speaking of damage, has anyone found a use for bandage yet? I know it's a setable control but I've never had the chance to test it out.

I've never used it. Never had any indication I was detrimentally wounded.

I've heard reports that if you use a bandage you will not be able to move properly afterwards.
Bandage default key is (z) i believe.

Re: Article Request: Aiming.
What Obi says is, apparently, true. I used bandage yesterday and I got stuck.
