How exactly does the deployment system work?

Is there a constant 30 second timer (or whatever the map sets it to) that just keeps counting down immediately from the beginning of the round, and you just 'catch' a deployment when you die? Or.. does the timer not start counting until the first death?

I've also been dead, waiting to re-deploy, and while in spectator mode watched someone die right before the timer finished counting down only to find that they did not re-deploy with me. I'm talkin like they died with 1 or 2 seconds left on my timer. Is there a 'minimum' death penalty you have to face? Say, like there must be a 5 second wait left or more for you to be included in that deployment.

Didn't see the specifics of this in any of the available documentation.

Maybe you were in diffrent squads
    I think squads respawn together

Each team has a deployment icon at the top near the hud. It's the small number left of the round timer. Sometimes it's infinite for a defending team on a push map. This is the deployment number. You get 3 for each objective you capture. When it runs out and every man is killed you lose.

I just played alone against Obi and Hammer and whenever I died the respawn timer was at 30 secs. So my guess is that the first one to die starts the 30 sec respawn timer.

That's right dawolf, when a person dies they start a deployment. This needs to be taken into account when your playing the game because many people just go off dying and the deployments get used up rather fast.

It almost seems like, if you are going to die, it's better to just get wiped out... rather than dying in trickles that keep setting off new deployments.

Is it also true that deployments are per squad as dead meat pointed out? So, if you have two squads and people were currently dead in both, then you are actually burning two deployments at once? If this is the case then everyone should be consolidating into one squad if possible.

Also, do you get 3 NEW deployments even if it is an objective that you already captured (obviously this doesn't apply to PUSH, as I understand the defending team can't re-capture points) or just 3 the first time you capture it?

Also if someone TKs a player then the will miss one deployment when they die next.
