Machine Guns!
Ok...I have noticed that alot of people dont use the Machine guns that often. I for one choose it everytime. It has many tactical advantages.
1. Suppressing fire: Unlike many other games(CS:S), suppressing fire is a needed asset in this mod. With bullet richocet, "fog of war", and penetration it is invaluable on the battlefield.
2. Automatic: Having alot more ammo is useful for the simple fact that there is less reload.
3. Nades: It has both a frag and a smoke. Greatly needed on the battlefield. Many other kits dont have these.
4. Defensive measure: In the event that you need to make a quick defense, you can deploy the bi-pod on almost everything. Boxes, windows, jersey barriers, cars, etc.
What are your opinions?

Re: Machine Guns!
Damn right smokes are essential beacuase Support Gunners can be deadly when set up right if you don't have a good use of smokes to keep your assault covered, then your gonna have a bad time.
However there seems to be a bug when you pull a smoke out as the SL lol hey dirtboy.

Re: Machine Guns!
Not to mention that the M249 in this game is as accurate as the M16...

Just be careful; smoke is a frag request beacon.

Re: Machine Guns!
You don't wanna try to sprint while throwing any grenade or you get stuck. They are suppose to fix in the next patch though.

Re: Machine Guns!
There's that bug with the SAW where you can't reload the thing. Another thing that's going to be fixed in the patch.

Re: Machine Guns!
Who needs to reload a Para? If you manage to empty it, grab another gun. Someone would've died by then.
Aside: Para behaves like a pistol for me. Now I can play Support instead of Snipx0r on CT. \^_^/

Re: Machine Guns!
Support is very underestimated in this game. It's a powerful team member and can make or break an assault or defense. I've seen gunner take up positions and mow down squad after squad. Against an unplanned team attack, the para user is going to come up on top in most occasions.

Not for the Glory. Not for the Honor. For the Team.

Re: Machine Guns!
u can run around with it pretty well. u have about 2 accurate shots while standing and no iron sighting if u pull ur mouse down a bit after the first shot. so u just do short burst if u miss the first time. i find it extremely well for everything but long range and sometimes mid range shots. for long range u have to be prone with the bipod and for midrange at least the iron sight and some luck. The gun REALLY excells in close combat though bc of its power, ammo size, and the aim is controllable.
Is a machine gun rush a viable tactic. i do it all the time and it really works.

Re: Machine Guns!
you can push up with the MG, but you'll have to be fairly slow. I tend to deploy my bipod and push from that position.
